64 drag link

Post by 1st64bigwindow »

I have a question that I want to know if anybody can shed some light on for me.I need a drag link for my 64 2wd f-100.All the parts mags list it for 57 or 65 on up they skip the 61-64.Would a drag link off a 57 2wd f-100 work? And I also want to know if there is a easier way than the toyota p/s gear box conversion for the 61-64.I was thinking maybe a bigger truck/bus that has p/s back in that year?Just wondering.LATER

you can use the column and a saginaw gearbox from a 70s model think like early 70s all the way up thru 79 the bendix style was used before that and im not sure when they quit using those and most ppl say stay away from those

I have the part number for the correct drag link and will post it for you sometime tomorrow. They are still available from several sources.
There is an early chevelle box that can be used, but I'm still working on the layout. Key is the ability to move the pittman arm to the same position as the original. These boxes are just the thing.

57 - 64 are the same. LMC 45-2410 $59.95.

I would check with a local parts house like O'Reileys, AutoZONE or NAPA.

You will probably get the same part but not have to pay shipping.

I just looked this up the other day. The difference between the 57 part number, and the 61 part number is, that the 57 has grease zerks, and the 61 doesn't. I just ordered one off Ebay, for a spare, but may have one already. I will look and see, and if I have an extra already, I would be willing to sell you one.
