oil pressure

i am haveing a problem with my oil pressure. i just instald an oil pressure
gage in my truck. and know the truck won`t hold consist pressure, it will
start off at 50 psi and then drop down to 20-25 psi and then die off. can any give me any thougths on what is wrong

AS a general rule , oil pressure will read higher on cold starts. When the engine begans warming up to operating temp oil pressure will read lower. AT idle warm 20 is ok. The better shape bearing will yieid higher. Ole saying says you shouid have 10lbs of pressure, for every 1000rpm :D .
