I6 Temp sender location on 240

Post by DocDave »

I finally figured out were that extra wire goes to, but I just cant find were the sender is supposed to be. I found the oil sender on the left rear of the block (half way down, behind and above the oil filter). No existing sender for temp, and I cant remember were it was on my 63. Cant even find a likely spot. Maybe somebody changed the thermostat housing and replaced with a non sender unit. I dunno. So were is it SUPPOSED to be on a 65?

Early 240 heads had the temp sender at the rear of the head, all the way on the back. Trust me, that's where mine is. Bugger to find.

My later 300 has one where Kid says it should be. Maybe later 240s had them there too. Tell us where yours turns out to be.....

Planned/considered upgrades:
Perhaps power brakes, 300 I6 motor and JUST maybe, AC!
