STICKERS

Post by Truckrat »

I had a couple of big ones I had a friend at work make for me for a sign that we use at Pate. It sits out in front of our booth spaces and says Slick 60s on it on both sides. Chris has it at his house since he lives so close to the track. I might see if my friend can make some smaller window stickers like it so we can put them on our trucks. TR

Right now all we have made up is a sign (Thanks to TR for that Sign) to put in front of the spaces so others might see it. I really want to do up a flag of some sort but I still havn't done it yet... One day I will just go ahead and do it.. I think a magnet type sing would be a good thing for our trucks. Anyone got the resources to make those? I'm sure other's would buy them on the fourm. Would be neat to put on the trucks while driving to SS4... :D

Flag

Post by Truckrat »

Chris, I have been checking into having a 3 x 5 foot flag that is lettered like the sign I made. To have (One) flag made with the logo on both sides it runs well over a hundred bucks in a polyester fabric that is lightweight enough to fly even in a gentle breeze. The kicker is, the more flags made the cheaper they are. So.......maybe we can get some material and make our own. Not sure how it would hold up, but I am thinking it would be worth a try. I found a flagpole that is telescoping and when retracted is only 4-5 feet long. They cost about $60. So.....if anyone wants to start a fund for our bunch to pool our money and get a flag made and a pole to fly it on, I am listening. I think it would be cool to have it at Slick Stock 4 next year, too. No one will be expecting that. TR

How about a clear vinyl "sticker" we could place in the corner of the windshield or back glass? These would be removable since they don't have adhesive. They just peel off and on.
I had one my TBird club made up. It was even in color. I think the cost was just a couple of bucks if you ordered a box-full.

That would be cool.. I hate true bumper stickers, I allways put them on the back glass anyway. Do you know where they got them at? Maybe would could work in "slickitus" or something like that. Any suggestions would be great...

Ok you got my thinker going and with work being a little slow today. I fired up paint and played around some also did a google search for clear vinyl. The below 2 screen shots are what I can up with. I think I can get it better at home with the real graphics programs and I will try this weekend.

Here are the 2.

This one is transparent
[albumimg]4888[/albumimg]

This one is white background
[albumimg]4887[/albumimg]

looks like if we got a hundred of them the price would be cheap. I think if we did this the procedes would go to SS4 funds. I will have to talk with darrell about that one. I know I don't like the web address color so I will try and play with that this weekend. Unless any computer art savey person want to take a crack at it. I can only do stick figures so this doesn't come easy to me..

This is for a (4.8" x 4.8") sticker for Glass surfaces with low-tack adhesive for easy remove and postion.

Thoughts everyone?

stickers

Post by Truckrat »

 Great idea, Chris! Mine would be a sticker that looked like the lettering on the sign with the lightningbolt going through the gear and says Slick 60s like the sign. I still have one big decal that I thought about putting in my back window on the flatbed. Figured I'd try and get some more of those made, only smaller. I'll check around and see what I can find out. Yea coming up with that lighting bolt is turning out to be fun.. Here's another one I created tonight from home with a much better program than paint.

Foggy, if you have the card with the Slick 60s in an arc, and the gear and lightning bolt thru it, that is the one. I can use that big decal I have left and snap a pic and Email it to you Chris. Will that work? I'll try and get as clear of a pic as I can. Then you can go with it. Will be interesting to see what you do with it. I wanted to do a flag with this logo, too. Thought maybe we could do some shirts with that logo on it at a silkscreen shop. What are your thoughts? TR whistle.gif

That is the other one that I like. It and the one I have would both make cool window stickers. Also would look good on a flag and t-shirts, too. I will snap a pic of the design I have and try and put it on here, or just Email it to Chris and see what he can do. Just a thought, Chris, but couldn't you use the sign and photgraph it? It is the same thing I have here, only on a blue background. TR

card

Post by Truckrat »

Yep, thats the one. Our sign at Pate looks like that but without the black type. I thought that it would make a cool looking flag. I only have one of those cards, so I need some more. Mine is pretty beaten up. Who do we get those from? That one and one Foggy has with the hood badge are both cool designs. We should be able to come up with something from those for window stickers and things, right Chris? TR

TR take and put the picon a disk and go to kinkos and have them print you some. But i did the cuts myself it saved me a lot of money. They have cutters that you can use to cut them apart with. Mine are not perfect in size but they are close. If i remember right they wanted to charge me like $1-2 a cut. I think it saved me like $40-50 on the cost for about 30 min work. The machine will let you cut like 3-4 sheets at once.

Just got on here for the first time. I live in Moore, Ok. Have '66 SWB big plans. LOL I used to sell parts and trucks out of NW AR. Sold a crewcab to a man in LA. Had the chance to sell out and jumped on it. Kept my special lil' goodies and moved to the city. Just looking for locals with similar interests.
If it aint broke take it apart.
