Im new to the whole slick world. I few months back i purchased my next project which is a 66 f100 of course lol. It had alittle work done to it to kerp it looking decent and running. The truck has a straight 6 with 3 on the tree. I recently bought a c6 transmission to have rebuilt and swap out the manual to auto. Have other plans for the truck other than just the trans swap like suspension work and interi I r work. Will try and get some pics posted tomorrow

I've never started with a truck that looked that good. Looks like a lot of fun.

Thanks.... since getting it, its been a kept in the garage. Im in the works of getting a c6 transmission i picked up for cheap rebuilt to swap into the truck. I really want to do a column swap with a shifter on the column but will probably do a floor shifter n d I wn the road do a column swap eliminating the old column 3 on the tree.

Other plans for the truck will be some interior work, replace the windshield n seals on the windows, new rims n tires and suspension work in the form of air ride. Work in progress....slowly

so curious... I have with the extra parts that came with the truck a chevy big block alt; any idea what the "po" could have had in mind for it?

My guess, he was going to change to one wire alternator and some think the chevy is easier to do.

My theory is if it is not broke don't fix, but if adding a lot of load it might be needed. Others will add more but I would not rush.

Well eventually i will be adding a stereo and air management equipment for air ride but thats down the road. I do notice when giving it gas when driving the alt light on the dash flashes

First, Ford purists do not believe in putting non ford parts on a ford....that being said, the Delco Remy alternator known as a one wire alt. is called that because of tractor applications. In order to do the job right on your truck, you would run the charge wire off the big bolt up to the positive on your battery through a j block, starter relay, or amp meter. the I terminal on the small plug goes to the positive connection at that point in order to read correct battery draw. The II wire goes to your idiot light to excite the alternator. Search Delco Remy for a wire diagram... look for the simplest that uses three wires.

In regards to mirrors it all depends on what mirrors you got. they either go to your two ears, one on each door or get screwed to your sheet metal on the door, if you have western or tow mirrors.
