Roof will definitely be white. The sun is brutal here. I want to find a color that is really similar to barn red for the rest.

Look at '66 Mustang Poppy Red. It's a red/orange that I really like.

I pulled the crossmember out from under the engine so I could pull the oil pan. Feels good to make progress on these things. I will get pictures as I put it back together.

This is the tailgate off of "the mutant". I will have to weld in a few patches, but it fits and has all of the hardware. I have not added the right hinge yet.

Well Dan, at least you have a tailgate for it. Dang ole Uni tailgates are
disappearing fast. Some dude in Alberta is trying to buy them all up. TR

If ya'll actually think that's the ugliest tailgate, it's obvious you haven't been shopping the Gulf Coast!

Actually there's a few of us Albertans looking for those uni tailgates. Very popular truck here in ALL versions including those running junk engines.
They wouldn't hire me at A&W so I became an automotive technician!

just fixed a leaking engine dipstick, and adjusted the clutch. I hate how the clutch pedal was so high, so I adjusted it down as far as it would go, then adjusted the free travel. It seems like in order to push the brake and clutch pedals I have to put my knees in my chest. Maybe it is just me.

I just cleaned out this door I bought a while back. I bet there was enough dirt in there for a small house plant.

Image

After I get the tar off of the inside top, I am going to measure, measure, measure. Then it will be time to cut the upper door skin off of the uni door and graft it onto this one. The uni door has a big dent in the lower section, as well as rust in the bottom. This should be fun.

door grafting. I cut the uni part out of a door and welded it into a standard door. The trick was using the keyhole to line up the pieces

Absolutely. I have two uni doors with the top cut completely off of them. I used one of them for the arch, and the other is being put aside. My whole truck is made of cut and paste panels. I get to weld in the front of the bed here soon, and hopefully I can lay off of cut and weld stuff for a bit.

So I got a bigger radiator. I followed Steve Park's advice and got a big universal radiator from Speedway Motors.
Image I welded in a piece of 2 inch angle to support it.

Made rubber pieces to cover the cradle claw things. These are 5/8 heater hose. Nik unrolled a roll of bubble wrap to entertain himself.
