Made blocks and bolted it up.... I used a high quality all thread
The fellow at fastenall said it was a step above a grade 8 bolt
I also went with a 5/8 size vs the original 9/16 u-bolt
... With the 300 i6 and original leaf pack ....
I'm thinking notching the frame won't be nessacry
I put 500# on the very front and still had good clearance

Top nuts will be welded , bottoms double nutted....

Pulled the rear apart ... Tore down & cleaned all leafs
Also pressed in all new bushings .. Everything nice & tight like new
Cut the leaf perches off the rear and used them on the bottom of the axle
Got my rear end set to correct degree & spot welded the perches
Just used the old u-bolts for setting up
Going to buy some new ones ...
Probably will use the next size bigger for strength

Will you still be able to use your stock shocks on front and rear
or have to go with shorter ones. Everything looks good so far.
Wondering if I could flip the front axle on my 57 like that! TR

Bought some shocks at auto zone for the rear
They were about 4" shorter
Haven't measured for the front yet
Haven't done anything for about 5 days....
Dam flu has kicked my butt ... :(

Take care of yourself. I've heard the flu outbreak is bad in this part of the country.
