Food for Thought, Roads & Bridges in this Country

Post by 6166 Junkyard Dog »

:?: How come we can send a man to the moon or up in the space shuttle but down here cannot figure out how to make a bridge meet the road on the interstates without feeling it :?: Next how come say in Nevada they can build a 20 mile section of 4 lane Hwy. in the matter of months but other states years to do,,, Just some food for thought :)

1) The bridge, being up in the air, changes temperature a lot more (and faster) then the road, so you have to have a connection with some give (expansion joint). You're gonna feel it most of the time.
2) Would YOU want to stand around leaning on a shovel in 110 deg. heat? Those guys are motivated!
