Lots of joking, & I had a little apple pie & a few beers
Figured I would get up about 7am and take off
Then my phone rang .......
It was the automatic control saying the water tower was low
I run the water district......
I'm the only employee.....
Basically I am on call 24 hours a day....
7 days a week....
For the last 32 years....
I called my son at 1am to go check it
He said all the pumps were running, but the water level going down
I knew it was a leak... A big one
Let's go Colleen !
But I know I can't l-e-g-a-l-l-y drive
So Colleen takes the wheel .....
"Drippy" the truck is not driver friendly
But she does pretty good
But after two hours , we both relize there is no way we can keep going
We get another hotel & sleep about three hours
Get up and away we go
By this time my son has located the leak
A 4" inch main broke in half
We shut off some valves and isolate the problem for now.....
Wish I would have gotten to shake some hands & gave some hugs....

On a good note.... Drippy lived up to its name
Used most of the oil Kevin gave me
But it ran virtually flawlessly both there & back home
Some people climb mountains for adventure....
Others drive old trucks
