Thanks

Carb linkage probably early 65, before cable from pedal, mounted on intake left rear .

If restoring a ford was easy, chevy guys could do it.

I edited the post question. It is not fe or any of the suggestions in the fordfe link. You are right about it being on intake, it would not work on the passenger head. Maybe on the driver if it had bosses on rear.longcabjohn wrote:Carb linkage probably early 65, before cable from pedal, mounted on intake left rear .

It mounted on the Intake. They were used on cars too, may be as early as 54. Could be from y block, early fe, or possibly 260 that was used in 63,64 big cars. If I remember right it is of standard transmission because there was another connect point for the kick down rod on the automatic. Clean it and you might find a part number.

I cleaned it before posting, don't see even faint markings. The early fe has the same small two bolt pattern as latter. I found fe and yblock that looked very similar but this has a larger base and larger 3 bolt pattern. Seems I have seen this on a Jeep valve cover.

Set photo to a Ford Machinist, same thoughts, looks like Ford but does not fit FE, Y or MEL. Can't match it up with an 8 or 9 N either.
