What is this thing? (with correct picture)

I found this thing while cleaning out my shed. It had a float inside it and a cover. Does anyone know what it is? I have no idea. I has two threaded outlets on the bottom of the other side.

I have a steam jenny and it has a similar tank like that to put chemicals in . Tom
