There is no doubt, during the Kneivel years there simply was no person on his level of being a daredevil !

He was like the entire X games, bungie jumper, suqirrel suit flying community rolled up in one white set of Harley leathers !

Got the chance to meet Evil down in Florida in 1975.
Near Tarpon Springs there is a big resort called Innisbrook
and was there one day when we got a call for a couple of
golfcars to meet a foursome at the No.1 tee. So we go
be boppin up there and there he is with 3 other guys
waiting to tee off. We pulled up and parked the golfcars
and helped them get their bags strapped on the back.
Poor guy moved around like he was 90 years old he had
crashed so many times. Still looked the same except
that day he wasn't wearing his leathers, just some slacks
and a golf shirt. TR

I can only imagine how much misery his life was after awhile. I have all kinds of pain from my years working pipeline construction without broken bones. He may have had his 15 minutes of fame, but was it worth it? Bad trade off in my opinion. Got to admit he had balls.

If You Notice On The Ticket It Reads "This Ticket Permits Entry To Blast-Off Area-Launch-Pad" Can You Imagine Sitting On The Side Of That Canyon In A Folding Chair With A Cooler Of Beer In The "Blast-Off Area"? Today's Insurance Companies Would Have People Sequestered About 5-Miles Away When They Lit That Candle! .......
