Man... I have weird dreams....

Last night sleeping... Yes... An actual dream...

In my dream I Was out in Arizona visiting my sister
I Was at a metal salvage yard looking for something
In drives a crew cab slick covered in dust
The guy is waiting in line for the scale.....
I go ask him what the story is
He said his dad bought it brand new n 66
They used it to go on vacations into the mountains
Not a bit of rust or dents that I could see
I then noticed it was leaking fluid
Yep , he said... Had only water in it
The block had froze & cracked.. 10 years ago...Couldn't be fixed
It had been in the garage
He would fill it up & drive it a couple of miles about every 3 months
Said it drove good, everything worked
But he wasn't going to fix it..., just sell it for scrap
I asked him how much he wanted
$400 bucks is what the scrapper would pay
I said I'd take it
I filled it with water & drove to my sisters house
You should have seen Colleen's face when I drove in
How the he77 are you going to get that home ?she wanted to know
Drive it... I said
I had a plan........
Got me a 200 gallon tank & a pump
Filled it with water and plumbed it into the heater hose
I timed the leak
About a gallon a minute....
That's 200 minutes.. Or about 200 miles before I need to fill again
Bought a garden hose so I could fill it at wherever I needed
Plan worked great
Didn't get home though
I think I woke up in Oklahoma ......

When I woke up.. Was really disappointed it was just a dream
Dang !!! that was a really nice truck !

Sounds like a good dream to me. I have crazy dreams too, some of them I wish would come true. Others not so much, some are plain scary.

Except at the last SlickStock
I sold Lipke 2 cabs & he's gonna try to build one
I kinda wonder if some plants never built any
Most trucks in Kansas were built in KC

Don't know the accuracy; but I understood that he crews were only built as Michigan Truck and San Jose. That sounds reasonable , since those locations are near the prime customers for such back then.
I remember back in the seventies a friend bought one for a daily driver. I thought WTH would want to herd that thing around? Now, a new "single cab" is becoming a rarity. Maybe Inshold buy a couple new ones to preserve for future generations!

The Air Force had a million of them. You used to see them everywhere. I would have never thought that they would be so rare today.

I've never had a dream about my slick- but I did last night. I dreamt I was driving it- though it was painted yellow (like the buff color primer it is now) and I decided to drive to a quick lube place for an oil change.

I drive it up on the weird front end ramps- but first I had to drive through their lobby. I jump out of the truck which is now lifted and 4x4. I try to shut the door and it wouldn't shut right cause it was on those ramps (causing stress on the cab mounts).

Next we open the hood and see the block is in the compartment sideways, and the heads are missing- yet the engine is running.

Tech looks at it and says he can't work on vehicles older than 2005. He doesn't know how to find the dip stick.
I close the lid, try to grab my dogs (who now appeared in the waiting room) and then load them up in the truck but the truck is now a baby blue 80's F350 with black bed topper.

I swear I am not a lunatic. and yes i dream in color.

Yep ... Dreams can be a crazy mix of things
I like to analyze them....
1.I would say you don't trust other people working on your stuff
2.Your dogs are important too you
3.You are amazed at mechanical things that work...that shouldn't
4.Your not quite sure what color you want your slick to be

I dream in color also....
I did read , that you never see a light source in a dream.....

I consider dreams are equal free movies !

I was talking about making a crew at ss6
My plans were to put them together back to back
Then the rear doors would be suicide...
Minimal amount of body work
Just cut, weld, bondo ....

Just a pipe dream !

Pat, you know that is my idea as well, I even did photoshops of it to see what it would look like. Lots of options...
keep the back window a windshield with wipers?
Slap a normal cab back on it?
Make the box flat on front..or round like the windshield?

I measured it out one time and if you used everything to the firewalls on both cabs it would be dang near as big as a van Before you mount the box. You could have TONS of foot room in the back seat area, and tons of storage behind the seat.

So many possibilities.
