Mr smarty pants takes a tumble

I needed to check on some stuff in some pastures
Decided I better take the 4x4
Fired up the 62 on propane
Started instantly even though it was only 15* out (Fahrenheit)
Had been sitting a while as the driver window was stuck in the down position
Pulled up to the shop and let it idle while I fixed the problem
Took off and ran perfect...... For about 3/4 of a mile.....
Checked under the hood .....
The water heated regulator for the propane was covered in ice.
Got a ride back to house & poured some hot water on it to thaw it out
Felt hose to cab heater....warm....felt hose to regulator ....cold ....
Got a bucket to stand on... Started taking hoses off
I PRIDE MYSELF ON FIGURING OUT PROBLEMS QUICKLY........
But this is baffling me... Why ain't this dam thing circulating ???
About that time ... I slip off the bucket
Grab with a slippery hand to stop me
About jerked my arm off my body
Hit frozen , rocky driveway with my 300+ pounds
I wanted to cry... But couldn't
So I just asked God to take me
I guess he didn't want me
Finally got back on my feet.....
Eventually figured out the problem
The radiator is a tad bit lowere than the regulator
I didn't have it full to the top
At idle there wasn't enough flow of warm antifreeze thru the regulator
It FROZE tha antifreeze (good for -30* ) in the regulator
Finally got everything happy
Except my shoulder......
I'm not a pill taker
But I told Colleen to give me something strong
Oxycodone ? .... She said take one... So I took 2
And about 4 bud lights
Son of a gun still hurt... But today it's pretty good
Falling off a bucket can hurt like heck
But it sure makes for a good long story

My sister in Newton thought it was another earthquake, this will put her mind at rest.....

Glad to see it's not too serious.

I didn't break anything... Arm as good as ever
Actually the fall seemed like slow motion
Except the sudden stop.......

Gosh dang it's COLD !
About 5* degrees today... And a hard 20mph wind
Truck started and ran fine
Heater was sufficient ... But could have been more

It's not usually the fall that hurts, it's the sudden stop.

You know how some people get smart and by a car hoist? I can see Pat digging an 8 foot wide trench he can drive the 4by 4 into so everything under the hood is at belt buckle height ;)

I'd rather get a bucket to stand on to add oil....
Than have to use a jack to drain the oil !
....
Standing on a bucket is not that complicated...
But that antifreeze made it too slick !

I hope Ezer don't have to change his oil very often. That's a major effort.
