I haven't had any notifications to pay anything. However, I was just on the photobucket site and something is up as the page was not loading properly. It took me a while to find my pics but I did and was able to add more and link them.

Maybe it is some glitch in the site coding.

I've had this same issue today. Apparently they're cracking down on their 3rd party sharing.

I'm switching over to "PostImage." It's free and seems just as easy as Photobucket and like it was made for posting pics on forums. Hopes this helps everyone else in the same boat.

I sent an email to photobucket support asking them about this and this is what they sent back.

Hello,
Thanks for emailing us. If you are seeing the "3rd Party Hosting Usage" image on your site, it means that your Photobucket account has been restricted for 3rd party hosting. Our Terms of Service does not allow 3rd party hosting for your current account level. Due to this, we have disabled linking for your account.
Photobucket defines 3rd party hosting as the action of embedding an image or photo onto another website.
For example, using the <img> tag to embed or display a JPEG image from your Photobucket account on another website such as a forum, Etsy, eBay auction listings, blog, etc. is definitively 3rd party hosting.
We ask that you upgrade to our Plus 500 subscription to continue using us to host your images. This subscription is the only option for off-site photo hosting at this time.
To upgrade to a Plus 500 account, click here. Once you've completed your purchase, please clear your browser's cache and cookies to update your pages.
Thank you.

Photobucket is now on my s*** list. How can they make that type of change when their original business model was designed around facilitating just that? Most other sites, like ebay, facebook..., are easy to post to as they have plenty of storage for images and are revenue producing. I understand why we have limits here, its just a shame that such a wonderful archive of info is now significantly reduced by the loss of so many photos.

So according to the article, Photobucket was looking to improve its revenue stream. If everyone of the 100 million users paid the $400/year fee it would make then a cool $4Billion. Nice revenue enhancement.

Yup, looks like there's going to be some BACKLASH over this, and frankly, I hope it snuffs their business out. Would be the ultimate KARMA for being a greedy bunch of so & so's.....

See post # 16 in thread below....

I'm not sure what the hosting arrangement is for the slick60s.com forum, but it may be possible to migrate the Photobucket images to a local server and simply redirect all the photobucket.com image links there. This assumes that the member here want their images moved and for them to be accessible from this site. I don't know much about phpbb forum software, but I understand all the links exist within a database and could be extracted fairly easily by someone with database and scripting skills.

If one of the board admins wants to private message me, I might be able to put some effort towards fixing this issue.

Regards,
Corey

Merry Christmas in July! I just received my email, and checked my build thread, sure enough, all the photo links have been disabled.

No more photo Bucket for me.

I may try one of the other services out there.

Good evening to all.

Finally lost all my pics on my threads. Screw PB, I just won't go there unless it's to delete all my pictures there. Only use it here and one other site so that's the end of posting pics on those 2 sites.

I am lucky enough I have my pics stored on our lap tops and backups.

Bye, Bye PB!
