There is a way to delete your account. Look under your account settings or profile, I don't recall which. It'll take a day or two to finalize once you request it, but mine is deleted now.

The instructions for deleting your PB account can be found here (copied and pasted below): http://support.photobucket.com/hc/en-us ... y-Account-

To delete a Free account:

Log into your Photobucket account.
Place your mouse on the Profile icon next to Plans (top right), and choose Settings. Your settings will display. Click Here if already logged in!
Click the Account tab and scroll to the bottom of the page.
Click Delete this account.
Enter a reason, slide the slider to prove that you are a human and click the Delete My Account button.

I'm going to hold out for a while. I have so many pictures linked it will be a major pita to do it all again. Hopefully they will upset enough people and cause enough people to leave that they change their mind in the next couple months.

May I recommend that you read the "terms of service" for any site you are ready to try.
Some say that any images you up load become the property of the site, to do with as they see fit.

Fair warning, I grew tired of reading terms I didn't care for and we're down right laughably wrong!
I settled for DropShots because it was the first site that didn't out right offend me with their terms.
I'm sure there are better choices out there... I got tired and settled on less offensive.

I don't want to see my Slick or anyone else's used as poster fodder for some unsavory add campaign.

FarmMotorSports, thanks for your reminder about TOS. It caused me to go back and re-read the terms of vgy. I didn't see anything that looked bad, but it was a good reminder. I will often scroll through the legal mumbojumbo, and click "ok". I think that may be part of why that stuff is so wordy, so that no one will take the time to read it.

I pulled the trigger and deleted my account today. I refuse to be black mailed. I also gave them a piece of my mind when the ask why I wanted to delete my account. I also have every picture that I had on Photo Bucket backed up on not only my new computer but also on an external hard drive and also my old computer. So if this site ever gets its own hosting capabilities I will be able to replace a lot of tem if not all of them.
