I came across this site that sells a product called Super Alloy 1 for welding and repairing pot metal. Videos show how it works and you can use a propane torch or an O/A setup.
Very useful for repairing parts that are not produced anymore.

They have a lot of other good information on welding, brazing, etc.

A Bloke has been selling the super alloy rods at swap meets for 10 or more years here!, he does a demonstration where he welds a soft drink can. I have used it with reasonable success.
Honey, If I say I`ll fix something I will, there`s no need to remind me every 6 months!!

wow, if you were really in a fix, it would be great. kinda prohibitive price for burning stuff together for fun. Definitely not cheap.... I think they think they got somethin' special and a corner on the market.....
$50 for 1/2 lb/ 5 rods.... eek!

i was trying to mig weld a column tube. and i started on the lowest settign. and i could chip off the weld because it wasnt penetrating. i kept turning the machine up on heat range at a time. and then my dad walks in and says i can gas weld that for you. and i told him i didnt want to braze it. he said he wasnt going to braze it. he got out the torch and some cailing wire. he then welded the tube back together with no flux no nothing. just the bailing wire and the heat of the torch. it worked very well. it pentrated fien and made a very good looking weld.
