Ok so I have a 65 F100, I have located a cheap cab from a earlier slick model with the step wells. Could I use this cab on my 65 by using the frame mounts from the donor truck that the cab came from? Or is the frame different enough that it wouldn't be that simple?

a lot of work
besides the cab mount issues theres also steering column mods, firewall mods and wiring differences.

i would not do it again due to the time needed to do all the modifications

is there anything on the site that does this analysis with frames and beds? like can a 65 lwb box fit on a 64 lwb frame, does it fit on a 62 frame, and so on?

Really good information on the cab. How about the front end stuff? I have a 66 f250. I f I need a core support, fenders, hood, doors, front cab mounts, etc. What fits it?
Thanks

outer fenders, hood and doors are the same from 61-66. uni doors are different than standard cabs doors.

you will need the tub style cab mounts from a 65/66 2wd.

Still working on installing the 62-4 cab correctly on the blasted and painted 66 frame we got with the project truck.. We are using the front mounts from the 62-4 that are installed on the 66 frame, the 66 mounts are gone now. Biggest problem is making the power steering and steering column mate, and come out in the cab at a decent position. Looks like we will be needing spacers with the new rubber cab to frame bushings we bought in a kit to fit a 64....Any links to a completed backdate cab swap like this would be appreciated.

i went back and fixed the pics in my earlier post, after the update a while back they were not able to be seen.
if you notice how i used the early frame bracket and the rubber mount (which i later replaced with a donut made of thick wall tubing as there was too much rubber with the 4x4 rubber cab mount on top of the 2wd cab mount.)
