Written for the 65-69 switch but maybe you guys can tell me if it's basically the same for the earlier trucks?

It's pretty much the same on a straight axle truck Dwight.
Biggest difference is that all the wires are separate so you don't have to mess with the plug.
One other difference on the straight axle trucks is the early switch/cam assemblies were metal (sorry - won't sell the one I have, lol) - much more durable but quite hard to find. The metal switch uses a smaller thread on the handle too so if you find a good used one get the handle with it.
