1966 F-250 Hiboy 4x4 - Question on Transmission swap out

I have a 1966 F-250 and have considered changing the gear ratio from 4.56 to 3.54 but have had several comments suggesting I change the tranny from a 4 speed to a five speed. Is that possible and how difficult would it be? I wouldn't be doing the work but am wondering if this is a better alternative to changing the gear ratio. Anyone have any thoughts and how difficult is it to get a five speed transmission for this truck? Thanks

unless you don't care about performance or mileage, leave the gears alone...
