My headlights flash when warm and if I use dimmer my dash goes black. Do I need new switch and upgrade to relays? Lmc sells heavy duty headlight harness for 30 bucks. Any opinions or reviews. New and in need of some expert advice. Thanks all.

will upgrading to relays solve my headlight flashing and dash going black problem? or does my headlight switch need to be replaced? thanks

it will solve the problem permanently. a new headlight switch may stop the flashing for a while but the crappy wiring remains. this is because of the switch function of a circuit breaker-too much current thru old thin wires overheats the breaker, it stops the flow until it cools off and the lights come back on till it gets hot again....

LMC sells a kit; not what I would use, but a definite improvement.Bobenhotep was making some top quality ones, but the price of the needed materials was driving the finished price higher than what some were willing to pay.

Late model cars and trucks are full of relays a trip to a pick a parts yard could net you a handful of relays for little to nothing!

Great info!

I need to go back and read some of these older threads.

I used to make a bolt on plug and play module to do this, but parts alone were thirty some odd dollars. I posted a thread about who my electrofunk suppliers were. I'll go look for it.
