460ford.com sold

Post by 62galxe »

Guys, Chilly (460Ford.com's former owner) has announced that the site has been sold to a Canadian corporation called Autoforums.com

Not a good thing IMHO, because like the other sites purchased by Autoforums, the site will become overrun with ads, and all kinds of spam will come to the inboxes of members on the memberlist.

It's sad to see the beginning of the end over there.

I hope this never happens here. This is my favorite hangout on the net. Lots of great people and information.

460 Ford demise

Post by Truckrat »

:iagree: Man, I sure hate to hear that. Ads and spam and all that crap have no place on a message board, and I hope never are allowed in here. I am a member over there, too, but don't go there much. I guess most of those guys are dragracers by the stuff they build. I was just interested in upgrading my engine for more torque with some simple add ons. Would like to be able to build a mega-inch torque monster for pulling if I had the denero, but gotta walk before I run with my budget, or the lack of it. Corporate suits who run those kind of forums are looking at it to make money off of it. Worst thing can happen to a good source of information like that is when those types get hold of them.
Glad I read your post before I went back on there. Thanks Kenny! TR

:( I was also shocked to see that the 460 site had been sold. I have been on the other sites that company owns and don't like them that's for sure.

In case you missed it Bruno (Nick) setup a site and so far a good group of guys have signed up. it's still all about Ford BB's.. http://460ford.heavenforum.com/ This site was an alternate when 460 site was down but now it's a regular site.

We will see what becomes of 460ford.com there already starting to make changes over there.

PS - I really hope the owner of this site doesn't sell out. And if that owner does want to sell offer it to us members first, I'm sure we could come up with the money to buy it. I love the no ads anywhere on this site and it is a second home for me.

I too am a regular on 460. Haven't been there for a few days tho and I am disappointed to find out it has been sold. I'll go there when I finish tonight and check it out. I used the links provided in the other posts (thank you) and most likely will join them tonight. I love the ford bb and use a 429 in my work truck, one of the most trouble free engine I've ever used. I'm gathering parts now for a 460 stroker build for the work truck this winter and will use parts from the forum venders.

Again thanks for the heads up.
