bronco tank

Not sure about the capacity of the Bronco II tank. I think it is over 20 gallons, but not sure. I'm taking off the bed and front clip this weekend so I can get started on cleaning up the suspension and frame for painting. Will post pics as it progresses. TR

Gas Tank

On the Pajero, er uh, Montero Tank, I am going to get the bed pulled off this weekend, (pulled the front clip off last weekend), and then go measure some tanks for size. Want to put a side fill tank in and install a door on the bedside if possible. TR

A few more pics of the frontend. My son had installed power brakes and an ECI front disc brake kit on the truck a few years ago, so that is a bonus. They still work! Also as shown a dual M/C and booster. Lines for the calipers are braided stainless. Going to order a new set of Cab mounts as soon as I can. Needs a little floorboard patching, but my friend Ben and I will tackle that. Now I've got to get the truck over into the shade where I can work on it a lot more. Too hot to work where it is sitting now. TR

Bronco II fuel tanks are 23 gallons; US. The filler neck comes out on the drivers side of the tank and would lend itself to a spot on the bedside or maybe inside the box. It's not too hard to make up mounts for the attachment straps. There was a factory skidplate on most if not all of them. Would be nice to have the extra layer of protection and it would hide the tank a little more.

I don't remember dimensions, but I happen to know that tank will fit between Explorer frame rails behind a Dana 60 moved five inches rearward.

as far as the leaf springs go i'd go with mono leafs i put the reversed eyes on mine i'll post some pics tommrow nite

Mounts are easy for the Brono tank. Grabe the orginal straps and take some 1" wide X 1/8 thick flat stock and weld it to the strap. Put a 90 bend at top with holes for the bolt to go and there you go..

Another Frontend

I got another frontend to replace the one that I took off the 63.
This one came from a 62, but is in really good shape. The hood
is better than any of the ones I have laying around here. Just a
little work on the leading edge lip and a small dent in the hood
and it will be good.

The front fenders and inner fender wells are in great shape, so it
won't take much work to make them look good.

The grill, gravel pan, header, and core support were a bear to get
apart thanks to those old encapsulated nuts. I hate those things.
Had to grind off the heads on 4 of those bolts to get them out.
Otherwise, it came apart fairly easy. All the pieces are in great
shape, especially the core support. Nicest one I have ever seen.
I will get them all cleaned up and painted so reassembly will go a
easier.
