circuit breaker question

Post by Ford4jack »

I need to install a circuit breaker or fuze link in my 66 f100 power to cab wire. Anyone have a suggestion of what amperage breaker or link I would need to use.
Theres nothing extra in the circuits on this truck.

I am running the headlights off of relays powered from the battery so the light switch is carring a lighter load than stock also.

the big slicks used a 70 amp circuit breaker, i doubt you need that much.
i dont care for the fusible links they used in some later trucks.
i think it depends on the amperage of alt/gen.
curious as to why you need one?

Actually I probably do not need one. The harness is in good shape with fresh tape wrapping and in wire tubing.
I guess after working on crusty old forestry & construction equipment for years my mindset is on overkill for wiring protection.
Really all I do have to worry about is hungry mouse. Its not like its going to be full of leaf litter and hydraulic oil or anything

Thanks for the reality check Iceman
