I got mine in the mail the other day and it's got Slick60's people in it!

Willy does a nice DIY Dash Recover article.

Yeah, Little Black is in there.

Lotta guys from F T E that I met while up there. As far as Slicks...I don't know if anybody [or who] from here was at the show.

I was proud of the article, thought it turned out rather nice. Couldn't believe how many of the pics he got in there. First time I've ever actually "quoted" somebody in one of my articles.

I haven't had a chance to read that dash recover article. I just flipped to my show article, checked it out and then tossed it on the pile. Plan on catching up on mail and reading either tonight or this weekend.

The issue is sitting beside me now.

I subscribed. I like the whole flavor of the magazine. Aside from being Ford exclusive, their willingness to show imperfect trucks with interesting stories has been great, and the tech articles are actually useful. Still a bit thin on content compared to Vintage Truck, but comparable to those Custom and Classic rags that prefer Chevys.

Thanks folks! I have been going back and forth since my truck was first in it. I still have not got the first issue from them

!! They were suppose to send the first one to me and I have asked twice. I don't know if I should subscribe if the mail looses them. They may have not sent them out. Anyway I have not seen it yet, its kind of rare here where I live and I am in TN where its from. As far as the dash goes I had put that how to up on the old site years ago when it was at MSN. I have quite a few others to send in as well. I really like its format because it puts in trucks and stuff from the average fellow. I only have about two grand in mine but I did all the stuff myself.

Yeah it kind of gives you that feel that 3 or sometimes 4 guys are sitting around someone's kitchen table ,stapling copies of the mag together, but it is a homespun feel that I like about it.

Could be. I asked about getting one and he said he would send one out. Then I asked about a month later if he had sent it out and he said he would send it out again. I guess he forgot or it got lost in the mail. I did see the original one once in a store. I was going to get it but had to go somewhere else in the store and forgot ot come back and get it

I forgot what store I saw it in. I would llike to have it because my truck was in it. I guess I will call next week to see if I can get a subscription back to the first copy.

Willy, PM me your address and I'll send you a copy of the first one. I have a few extras that he sent me to give out at Cruise Ins.

They do several other magazines. So I know John stays quite busy.

One magazine specifically for Broncos...and it's always been stated FOR enthusiasts, BY enthusiasts. That's why he pretty much runs any article I send in. They also do another one for Jeeps and I think he might have one for small British cars.

I've met John, Tom and I'm good friends with Dan, so I know these guys. They're good people and are really interested in getting this thing off the ground.

If it turns out like the Bronco mag, it'll have a huge following with lots of tech, features and event coverage -- from regular people like you and me. They've even started their own Bronco super celebration which kinda spun off from the Broncos finally being allowed to enter the F100 Supernats.

Sent you a message Effe. They do seem to be a good bunch to deal with,from the times I have emailed back and forth. I had figured if he hd not sent it the reason was that he was busy. I like the other mags out there also but this has more of a feel of what I prefer. I prefer to see trucks I can relate to or can see myself having. I just don't think I would ever have one of these 50k+ trucks you see in many mags. I plan on doing some more stories of tricks I have done. Maybe I can do one on building body panels out of wood and dedicate it to JC

I remember that one iceman. I have it saved somewhere. The one that I liked the best of "different" trucks seen here was the one with a parrot in it. I think it was used at a beach resort or something. It always gave m a chuckle. As far as the wood goes in mine it was done out of necessity. I didn't have the cash for 200 trim rings or 100 door pulls. I had the wood and tools so I made them. I would replace the dash though if someone made a decent priced chromed plastic replacement for the wide dash. But I am so cheap,err frugal I don't think I will ever see one.

One thing, and this is a compliment coming from a Scotsman, you did put the "F" in Frugal.

free and frugal are good things if you ask me

i got some real nice pieces of wood out of a conversion van i am parting out and might use them in one of my truck projects.

also there was a box in the back door with a lid that says "first aid" and a small console type wood covered cooler that will hold about a 6-pack, the lid i think really belongs on the cooler

Seriously JC I enjoy the ribbing you give me over the wood. I am a big cutup so it doesn't bother me, I like it. I even make fun of it myself. Thanks for the complement of being frugal. I probably do have a hand on that.
I have two grand in my truck
30x52 shop, two grand
I built my house for about 45 grand. It is 4 stories and almost 1000 square feet each level.
I never buy new autos.
Most of my tools are other peoples castoffs I fix.

People are so wastefull and that makes it easier for me to fix stuff. the brother in law dumped two mowers off in the ditch on my inlaws land. Plus he has dropped probably a truckload of scrap metal I intend to haul off for cash. I am going to take parts off the lawnmower. I am going to make a homemade bandsaw mill and the lawnmower has some stuff on it I can use. The other lawnmower has parts I can use on my mower. So I guess I am very frugal.

I subscribed and emailed them, very nice people.

They put my 65 Slick on page 11 of the first issue.

Who would have thought my beater would ever be in a magazine ???
