ID this truck?

Post by j-mac »

Is the cab on this truck really what they say it is? Looks like a little bit of a monster to me and I can't find any info/pictures to match it to.

http://vancouver.craigslist.org/car/272372449.html

I can't see someone wanting to pay 1500 (firm!) for it, but it tugs on my heart strings and I'd like to at least go and take some pictures.

Looks like an old F-600 cab. Pretty much what he says it is.

I agree. Sounds like it's just a tad bit bastardized too.

It sounds pretty cool to me. Some thing like that would be a beast! with enough time and effort it could be quite a ride.

F-750 Super Duties, Super Duties had a higher roof line inside the cab,, if you take the filler panel off the bottom of the hood it will fit 61-66 slicks Super Duties went up till 1969 There is 2 F-750 trucks the F-750 has the grill, cab, hood etc. as the 61-64 trucks , then there is the F-750 & up Super Duties like the one in picture & then the T-1000 Series that where like F-750 Super Duties except the T-Series where tandem trucks usually with a 5 & 4 transmission power dividers to go about anywheres you wanted with that truck,,, on these Super Duties where meant for work and the Super Duties of today cannot match up to those trucks in the 60's,, the Super Duties where offered with the gas motor, Cummins Diesel,, Cat power also I can remember the one we had in my father's fleet had that Cat pulling one of those Montone Dump Beds from Hazelton Pa. loaded heavy with sand out of the old quarry by the Gingerbread Castle in Hamburg NJ not even a strain on her, And that is why I still have Fords, Papa told me if you want a truck that you can abuse & do things with it you thought was impossible than buy a Ford or Mack no other truck will measure up... GM & DODGE Think they have a truck BUT NOT

That looks like the cab on an F-1000 in an Augusta, GA big truck boneyard. Still there last December, too.
Guy wants $500 for the doors ($250 each) and $500 for the hood.

I don't think it is anything lower than an F-1000. Notice the front line of the doors are curved, up against the fenders. Tom's F-600 has straight doors, just like the F-100s. That's what makes it a 1000 series. I don't think it is a T-series either.

John, it is the same as the part of one you saw at my house and wanted all the switches off.it was a T800.i still have it.had the extra tall roof.
the super dutys had the different hood and curve at the bottom front of the doors.

That looks like the fender filler part between the door & the bulged part of the fender.

Like this here F850, for example...

The angle of the shot, combined with the painted stripes, give the illusion like it's part of the door, IMO.

Yep, I see it now. My bad.
The doors look like they will fit an F-100.
