Hello hope everyone is doing well, I was thinking today and yes that can be dangerous about a Slick 60’s Southwest Regional event, somewhere that everyone would have a chance to go. I know the Slick Stock is in 2012 and it is every two years so I was thinking that we could have this event in 2013. I know that we have the following states in our region TX, OK, AZ, LA, NM, AR, CO, so I was looking for a true central location and I think that Abilene, Texas would be the best spot and still offer things for everyone to do.
Below is the distance from a major city in each state to Abilene, Texas.
Phoenix, AZ to Abilene, Texas 880 miles
Denver, CO to Abilene, Texas 720 miles
New Orleans, LA to Abilene, Texas 700 miles
Albuquerque, NM to Abilene, Texas 485 miles
Houston, TX to Abilene, Texas 350 miles
Corpus Christi, TX to Abilene, Texas 390 miles
San Antonio, TX to Abilene, Texas 250 miles
Tulsa, OK to Abilene, Texas 385 miles
Little Rock, AR to Abilene, Texas 500 miles
With the mileage above who would seriously be willing to make the trip to an event that distance. The event would be a Monday – Friday that way everyone would have two days to get to the event and home. I know it would be a family vacation for some people, me and my family included so we would make it where it would be something for everyone and try to keep everything at the event as reasonable as possible.
So step one will be a head count of everyone that would be willing to go, so if this is something you would be interested in post and let me know.

I'd say let the annual April meetup at the Pate Swap Meet "Mini-Slickstock South" stand for a SW Region meet. Many members already attend this event and it's 150 miles closer for some (New Orleans, Little Rock and me) and 150 miles farther for some (Phoenix)
If you understand what you’re doing, you’re not learning anything.
