My New baby....:)

Post by 64crew4x4 »

Some of you might know, I have the slickaholic syndrome....
I had to go away from these Trucks due to kids, and life....
Now in the last 3 yrs I have come back home.....:)
It started with a Labor trade on a 65 Flareside
then the 65 Crew/Supercab came home...It is going to be my Daily Forever truck soon....
then I brought home a 64 Flareside 4x4 1/2 ton basket case..
then Last fall I bought a 64 Fleetside Custom cab for its Trim and Original 64 License Plates....Found out it has 86k original Miles on it, so Now I may not cut it up...
Now I just brought this one Home from another trade....

It will be my Tow rig/ Driver while I start into the Crew Project FINALLY.....

It is a 61 3/4 ton 4x4 with a transplanted 312 in it....( I am going to verify this tonite....) I got this truck for Basically Free..... :P
I have to stick an Alternator on it....I drove it this morning and I had to Tow it back home....Generator Failed...:(
It has a 4 barrel carb on it already, but it is severly choked thru factory crossover to a 1.5 inch single exhaust pipe...I have a fresh set of 312 manifolds coming already, so I can run Duel exhaust out tthe sides directly...:)
I'll post pics of the Supercab here shortly...now that I have them on Photobucket...

Enjoy....John.

Hey 64crew4x4 nice stable of 4x4s you have there. Is that something other than Ford running gear that the 64 Flairside is sitting on? Looks like the pumkin on that front axel is on the opposite side from where the 44s on the Fords usually are.

Yes the 64 Flare is a Mutt of Sorts....We think the front diff is out of a Scout or Jeep.....Rear is a 9 inch, and there is a 205 to fit the wrong front axle under it....and to Finish things off a 90's steering comumn and FMX trans....:(

Robert And I were chatting Last night about trying to get all the 4x4 Slicks in Oregon, Washington and anyone else who wants to join to get a meeting together somewhere central to us all....

I think we have 4-5 of us with-in 100 miles of each other...???

Sweet Id be up for the Northwest Slick 4x4 get together. I looked at a pic of a 57 F100 4x4 that I have and it has the axel with the gear housing on the passanger side it might be a napco or marrmon harrington unit. I should go back and read the article on it. Maybe thats what you have there. Oh I dont have a slick that would make it there but I would sure drive a later model 4x4 there.

Here is my 1963 F100 Unibody. It's got a 292 Y-Bock backed by a T-98. I bought it in 2001 and drove it daily for a couple years. Then I started a family and parked it for about 7 years. I just picked it up from storage yesterday, got her home and cleaned her up, so here she is.
