It's on the road!

Post by BigMike »

I worked on the '65 all day on Saturday. It was noon before I realized I hadn't had anything to eat.

Installed:
Pedal assembly
Steering column
Accelerator pedal and all linkage
Firewall pad
Brake Booster
Master Cylinder (new, only $46 - I love old cars)
Kick panel vents with new foam gaskets
Glove box
Antenna
Connect fuel line from Aux tank (still haven't painted the main tank)
Steering wheel (still needed painted)
Plugged all holes in firewall with grommets
Floor mat
Front seat
Emergency Brake assembly

I replaced most of the hardware with new. It was a very, very long day. I finally quit around 5:00, took a shower, and then we went to see the new Pirates movie.

I got up at 6 this morning because I had to bleed the brakes and wash it. I wanted to make it to the first of the month Caffeine and Octane. I am literally exhausted right now. Getting old ain't for wusses.

I think it turned out great. I still have some little things to do but she's driving now.

Mike,

Did you make the new foam gaskets for the kick panel vents?

Cheers,

Yes, I made new ones from foam weatherstripping from Home Depot that has adhesive already on it. I used the 3/8" wide stuff and put it where the vent meets the body and also the vent itself so it seals when closed. Worked great! Cost was $2.58 and I have some left.
