IN need of a smaller brake booster 7 or 8" for my 65 f100.it has been converted to power brakes from a 73 but the booster is about 10.5".the reason I need a smaller one is because I put taller valve covers

I used a 7" booster from a 70 Torino. It bolted right up to the 76 brackets and used the 76 master cylinder. Even got it from NAPA still. It clears my tall Ford Motorsport valve covers on the 460

I used a OEM booster from a 65-66 F-100 on my 64. It was pretty small.

Kind of a closeup shot of the light switch, but I can get a better picture if you need it.

My Hydro boaster from a GT mustang (2000ish) is small and doesn't come close to touching the 460. It was an easy install. They do sell them new with the alum bracket. :) just another option to think about.

My setup ran me $25 for the unit + new MC (70's mustang). Of course the $25 was a bone yard price. :) Then the cost of braided steel -6 lines and a few fittings. $50 ish est.

I know I have better pictures at home but here are a couple from the Crew Cab. I will post some more up tonight of the 64 with the 460 in it. The 65 (crewcab) all I had to do was a flat plate and all lined up. The 64 required a little bit more of a stand off.

This is a good article on how I built the bracket for the 64. :)

This is a place that sells them new. Not cheap. :) But they have the pre made bracket for your truck (65). And more information on how to hook it all up. I love the brakes now in both of my trucks. Nice pedeal.. :)

It bolted right up to the bracket. I had to make some minor linkage adjustments. Not home right now so can't you any measurements. In retrospect, I should have done a hydroboost setup as I have hardly any vacuum. I guess the only time you really need it is at the end of a straight line right, LOL

Fox 1990 V8 Mustang booster works very well, and rod is right length for the pedal. You would need to relocate the pedal pin downward about an inch. I had to trim the vertical braces on the firewall but I reinforced the pedal support (which did not really need it). It is 7" diameter and dual diaphragm.
