Truck
Picked up truck and just got back. Truck bed was more dented than I expected, not really usable. Bed floor has some decent pieces in it for repair of other beds, just a little rust though at front. Aluminum grille looks good, protected by grille guard. Still has original seat with lightning bolt Ford emblem. Core support looks good but does have holes for grille guard. I have a good title. It is a Camper Special too according to emblems. Has map pockets, trim looks good, zippers broke. Underdash air is an after market Penneys Foremost. Has some good Custom Cab trim. Tailgate is rusted but probably savable or usable to fix another.

Bluebolt, It looks to have lots of optional-trim & accessories, Custom Cab package, Camper Special package...all in a F100 at that.....TOO COOL! It sure looks good from here!
We need more pics, like a shot of the front grill/hood, of the rear tailgate/bumper!
Tell us more:
1) Any idea how long the engine has been blown up - not driven?
2) So what condition are the cab supports, floorboards and the roof line regarding rust?
3) How many rear leafs are in the rear springs - do you think it has the HD suspension pkg?
4) Did you find any OEM paperwork in the glovebox or behind/under the seat on it?
5) Would you mind sharing the info off of its Warranty Data Plate?
6) Is the top portion of the seat undamaged - maybe you can just redo/replace the lower portion?
7) What shape is the glass in?
GREAT CATCH - KEEP US POSTED ON YOUR PROGRESS!

FactoryStock,
I'd agree that the Western mirrors are desirable to most folks, I'm not so sure about the two-piece wheels being desirable.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but some time ago I acquired a list of what the '65/'66 Camper Special pkg included. this is what I've got compiled:
-- the 300 I-6 or 352 V-8
-- extra-cooling radiator
-- amp/oil gauges
-- extended tailpipe
-- H/D 55 amp alternator
-- 70 amp battery
-- Cruise-O-Matic (automatic) or 4-Speed manual transmission
-- dual western mirrors
-- left arm rest
-- dual sun visors
-- color-keyed upholstery and rubber floor mats
-- cigarette lighter
-- RH side air vent
Of the items listed above, I'd say the top picks for me would be the extra-cooling radiator, the amp/oil guages, and the western mirrors.
Personally, I just really dislike driving a 3-speed transmission, so a 4-speed would have to be high on my list of 'gotta-haves' regardless of the truck package...
BlueBolt,
Looking at your pics again, it appears that the roof (above the door) is blue on the LH side and white on the RH side? Is it just faded/worn off that much?

Update
Worked on truck a little. Here's some more info
Engine has ben blown up for years
cab supports look OK, floors need fixing. door frame corners on body look good
Looks like standard 5 leaf springs
Looked for paper work in seat and under carpet no luck
Seat cover is trashed, will cut off emblem for possible future use
Side and rear glass good
Window regulators work good
Bed is totally trashed and only good for patch panels.

New shoes and a limited slip
Put some different tires and wheels on the Camper special today. They are Progressive 15x7 5 spoke wheels like some people have posted here lately. Got them off a Ford van in the U-Pull-It yard. neice shape, very little curb rash, 3 tires match and are in good shape even and they all hold air LOL. AND they are made in the USA although the rusty center caps are Taiwan. First try to getting them off didn't work, had locking lugs on two wheels. Crap. Went back to truck to see if I had any thing that would work, no luck. I had found one of the locking lugs in the van and walked back into office so I could just go look yard over. Told counter guy my story and showed him the lug nut. He said "let me see that". Took it behind the counter and came back with the locking lug "key". He said it had been just sitting there and didn't know what it was for. What are the odds?
So a little more time and $68 bucks and they were mine. Decided to put them on Camper Special just becasue it had all those mismatched wheels.
So started early this morning, 26 degrees and frost on the ground. Sun was shining though so I bundled up and got to work. First wheel I try to remove (front left) one of the lugs just spins. Crap again. Pull whole drum and wheel off together. Try a couple of things to hold stud but nothing works. Use angle grinder and cold chisel to remove it. It was one of the aluminum wheels, wheel was more important than hub to me since I have spare hubs.
Get the front wheels changed and start on back. Both wheels jacked up, parking brake off (frozen off is more like it). Can't spin tire. Hmm traction lock? Double check and sure acts like one. Tag reads open 3.25, someone must have added it. This truck just got a whole lot better LOL.
Got wheels on, here's a few pics. Looks much better.

Re: Update
Yeah I thought it was parts only but after looking at it it's just the edge bent, door is fine. I am going to keep it and put it into new bed.ICEMAN6166 wrote:several people are looking for toolboxes right now in the parts wanred section.bluebolt wrote: Bed is totally trashed and only good for patch panels.

Re: Camper Special
Well after looking this truck over it had a lot more rust than I thought so it's going to get parted out and scrapped real soon. The core support was rusty as heck once I started taking it off and the cab floor was shot and everything lower down. It did have a nice battery tray that just needs blasting and paint. Fenders, grille, hood and doors are real good and already off. Buddy wants the front bumper and grille guard for his 65 4x4. Suprisingly enough this truck had factory original seat belts dated January of 1966, they are in good shape. Just drivers and passenger belts, no center belt. The engine does not have a thrown rod, the plug behind the camshaft popped out and was rattling around in the bellhousing. Engine turns over fine, saving it for Gritsngumbo for his 1966 Ranger.
See you guys at Pate!
