Starter bolt question?

Post by Alfs64 »

Help! I'm installing a new starter in my '66 with a 352 engine. What is the secret to put in the top bolt that is almost inaccessible due to its location and the exhaust tubing nearby, short of pulling out the engine? When I pulled out the old starter, it was missing both the tab and the bolt. This is nothing like working on my 223 ! :x

Not sure if same, I use 14" of extensions from front of motor on my 352. I'm think in of using studs next time.

I just did mine. I used a short socket with a three in ext. then I continued to do do 1/8 turns.
