wire is defiantly burned into, tried to solder it together must be enamel on the wire
Because the solder would not stick.
Drove mine! May not sound like much but it was at a freinds for a few days while I did disk brakes on his '64 El Camino. Was certainly glad to have it back. Still new to me and considering it was sitting 35 years until last month. Started first crank in the freezing cold and drove perfect.
Beautiful day in Kansas City today- got the 66 out of the garage went for a ride and started to teach my daughter how the shift a 3 on the tree- LOL and priceless It was a great day.

Lifted the cab off the frame. Bed and front clip have been off, blasted, primed, and put back on, now it is the cabs turn. New floor pans will be ordered next week then the fun begins.
My new radiator exposed that my heater core was bad. So I pulled it out. Now I have to order a new core. Might try to find leak and solder it tonight. This will also give me an opportunity to service heater valve and get new hoses. Also gauge cluster wouldn't light up. I pulled the light switch and cleaned the copper on the dimmer wheel. Problem solved. I didn't know my Sunco tach lights up. Pleasantly surprised. Also gonna put together a dual cycle tranny cooler. Run dual coolers per advise given. Pulled modern tape deck stereo out finally. I don't have cassettes and wasn't partial to all the sloppy wires done by previous owner. No stereo needed I like listening to the exhaust leaks. Hammered on some dents and cut pipe to form tailgate radius. Good day, I'll get after it some more tomorrow.
Body work on my trucks bed. Small dents are all just about gone. Bigger dents are now small dents. Hoped working on it all weekend, that I'd be further along. Maybe next weekend I'll get it in primer.

Yesterday, I washed it (including under the hood and in the bad. Does your wife roll her eyes when you do that?) Adjusted the kickdown cable (Lokar aftermarket). Straightened my new steering wheel (so it is in the right position when you are going straight). Put the arm rests back on. AND DROVE IT 70 MPH FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A DECADE. YEE HAAAAAAA!!!!
After getting the cab and new fenders inner and outer on , I filled it with gas and been driving around town watching people watch the 65. It amazes me how many people young and old men women and children break their necks stairing at my old primer patched heap!
