Yeah, they actually picked it as one of the three "Great Buys". It was lot number 617, teal and white 4 speed auto V8. Very nice. Sold for $23,650.

the delux tutone would have been enough. if it were red, it would look like a sonic mint.

Re: 65 Slick at Barrett Jackson, Reno
yep,IMHO they got a little a little carried away with fixin' her up. too much white. ditch the sideboards and whitewalls. Still looks ok otherwise-just looks a little like bubble gum or an ice cream truck.
Give that truck back it's dignity!
Wait I know, it's like one of those baby blue and white tuxedos from the 70's.

X3. !!!!!
Re: 65 Slick at Barrett Jackson, Reno
That paint scheme is hideous. I love teal and white, but agree with Chris that the original two tone scheme would have been much better.

Seeing that emergency end on the battery cable would be enough to turn me away from a $23,000 truck!
(Full disclosure; the $23,000 would be the biggest factor.)
If the "restorer" will cut corners in that manner, what else may have been shorted? Even if soldered in place, which I'm certain did not happen, it still looks cheesy, and is the hallmark of a "don't care" attitude IMO.
Soapbox dismounted, carry on!

Bypassed heater, poor wiring, poorly aligned bumpers and sheet metal, inactive choke, body repair evidence, so many things jump out just from several pics!
Hope the new owner is not a member!
If this is a $23,000 truck,(and the proof is there that someone felt it is), we all should feel a little richer!

I think it's called "broken", unless they actually cut a hole in the cowl for a retractable unit

$24K at the BJ auctions is chump change for many of those attending. What I fail to comprehend is what type of man (assuming the purchaser is male) would have the stones to actually drive that truck in public.

Quite frankly, I'd be wondering if the driver actually HAD ANY STONES if he was driving that!dbrady wrote:$24K at the BJ auctions is chump change for many of those attending. Works for me. I'd be thrilled to be offered 20k for mine. That's still not enough to buy it, though. Not necessarily saying it's actually worth more than 20k, either. It's just the difference between being for sale and not being for sale.66fordtrucknut wrote:Terrific, now every truck will be a 20k truck now.
