I haul groceries to the prisons out there. Gorgeous area, but a very hard place to make a living, form what I understand. I haul groceries to Tacoma a lot, too. I dig that city!65ford1 wrote:Welcome from Washington ,I grew up in Pendleton then went in the army in the sixtys and never went back.

Hey Oregoon! Welcome from the Peninsula of WA! I'm an Oregonian as well, but work keeps me out of Oregon a lot. I grew up in North Bend/Coos Bay and Hillsboro. Stationed in NB/CB a half dozen years ago- miss it!
I'm on my way back to Jersey in a few months. Hope it's my last tour of duty before retirement.

The months may change, but I am always APRIL

I grew up in Aloha, but have lived in Hillsboro... And I've trucked all over the Oly Penn. Where are you these days?

One more welcome from Northern Alberta
Is that the truck from the movie Duel in your avatar? I remember watching that as a kid and it freaked me right out.

It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..
Re: A big wet hello from Oregon!
That is the truck from Duel! '60 Peterbilt 281 with a Cummins 262 backed by a Spicer 5-and-3. I cut teeth on a '55 Kenworth with a 220 and a 5-and-4, and 20 years later, I'm still grabbing gears for a living, despite a BA in Communication Studies and a fledgling freelance writing career. I think that movie is entirely to blame...Johnny Canuck wrote:One more welcome from Northern Alberta![]()

Speaking of Duel: Best movie ever, worst ending ever! That said, Carey Laughlin remains the best stunt driver of all time.
Of course, I'm a trucker by trade, so I'd have to think that.
