replacement 300 6 cyl mounts (rant)
Has anyone replaced the engine mounts on their 240/300 6 cyl? (not the perches but the mount between the perch and the engine block)
If so where did you get them?
I only ask because the ones I bought 'online' don't fit - the passenger side bolt holes don't line up (off quite a bit) and the driver's side conflicts with the bump out in the block for the distributor. I could probably cut a portion off to make that clear but the 'rubber' pad part is too thick and won't allow it to get bolted down tight to the block. Oreilly doesn't even list them, Napa does but they aren't even close to being right - same part as for 352).
Thankfully I still have the originals and I can probably use them but I just figured since they are almost 50 years old, now is the time to replace them (when re-installing the engine).
Thanks for any input!

NOS. 65-79 the later model ones don't fit.
If it cain't be fixed with a sledge hammer it must be an electrical problem!
Re: replacement 300 6 cyl mounts (rant)
I had the same problem at Carquest Auto parts. the holes would not match up with the ones in the block, about a half inch off. had to go back the third time before i got a set that fit

Mine came from LMC too (the ones that didn't fit)

Mine came from LMC and they were junk also. The passenger one fit on but the mount bolt was about 1/2" too far forward. The drives side wouldn't bolt up. Found good ones in the junk yard.

So I tried a second set from a different supplier but they turned out to be the same junk from the same manuf.
So unless someone has another source i'll have to re-use the originals. Anything besides actually being completely cracked/broken to look for that tells me NOT to use the originals.

Over on FTE is a Guy called Number Dummy. Retired Ford parts Guy. Go there and ask the question. He can and will help. If you can pull a part number off the originals Google it and see what shows up.

I can try that but I'm not sure it will help any. I ordered the second set specifically because they were listed by the original part number (thinking that supplier had original Ford parts) but they turned out to be the same junk repos.......

Huh - I didn't realize Summit sold 'factory replacement' parts like that.....
I see theirs are manufactured by Anchor where as the two bad sets I already purchased are from Westar. May have to give them a try...
Thanks
