Finally -----------
Houston, we have color.
Got Nadine's new suit finished today.
Boss white, all of her.
The hard part is I have to wait at least three days before I can actually do anything except take the tape off.
It looks great just like it is and I know I won't, but I have to ask, can single stage urethane be buffed?
Now, where in the hell did I put the phone number of that pin-striper?

I'd ask my paint supplier if it can be buffed - I think some of them can.

Very Nice!Cant wait to see it all together.
Every day above ground is a good one
Re: Finally -----------
I can't see any reason it couldn't be cut and buffed. Three coats is plenty. As you already know just be careful on the edges.
Re: Finally -----------
Looking good Skip. Nice to see you getting busy on it. Just wish I was able to get on with my projects. Been down with rotator cup surgery on my left shoulder. Been busy though, Wife's Lexus has been backed into tice in the last two months. Nice car for a 2004 model and only had 84K miles but had planned on replacing it in the next few years. Decided now was the time, ended up with a new 2013 Buick leftover mostly because I got a really good price on it. Been waiting all winter to go get my new Cedar Creek fifth wheel we ordered last fall. It showed up about the time I had my surgery so it had to wait until I could at least use my arm. Nothing has been done to my truck or the grandsons truck all winter other than I've had some stuff powder coated for it and the 64 Galaxie convertible I have. Hopefully, I can get some things out of my shop where I have room to work soon. To many projects too little time.

Re: Finally -----------
See, the windows really aren't white like the truck. Pretty pleased with the lack of overspray too.
I didn't wait three days.... I just couldn't.
I started flooring the bed today too and the strips on the sides of the bed are "bump rails" to protect and stiffen the sides and front panel of the bed.
I can't help myself. Some people like billet, I geek out on stainless.

Sweet job! There is something liquid about a well done new white paint job. Love the bed. We are planning on doing something similar on my sons since his bed floor is gone & I have plenty of spare oak laying around. Nice to see what it would look like.
Can't wait to see the rest of the build.

Re: Finally -----------
More progress to report today. Installing the grill without destroying your new paint job is a two man project. Thank you BroncoTom and Toys for the extra hands, eyes, opinions and sarcasm today.
The pin striper will have to wait until I get back from Pate before I can put on the hood.
Thanks guys. I appreciate it.

Well, he front sheet metal is done. I'll put the hood on next week after my pinstriper is done with it. All that's left is finish the wiring and the bed and I'm back "on the road again".

Re: Finally -----------
Just about done with this part of the bed assembly process. I need to set the bed, mount the fuel tank and take the two center boards out to index and cut the hole for the fuel filler. I will set pretty close to what you see in the picture.
I'm pretty happy with the Mar-k parts. But if you do a flair like this, contact me before you start assembly and I'll help you ease some of the pain. The destructions, even if you read them, pretty much suck. But everything else is first class.
Its all details now.
