I got my trans back from the shop and got it married back to the engine. Bigger more exciting new.. My Dakota crossmember kit is due to arrive wensday so thing are gonna get a bit more interesting! I think within a week or so of having it I'll have it welded in and be ready to start mocking up the front suspension and getting the engine/trans mocked into place.

Lol funny you mention that, that's exactly what it made me think of when I got it bolted together and stood back to look at it for the first time!! You know I've often referenced that building the real ones is like putting a giant model together, only deference is the reward of actually driving them when you get done!

Well guys you won't believe this one! I've been slowly chopping away and the early stages of this 63 build for 2-3 months now. Just last week my ifs dakota kit arrived and the next thing to do was mock it all up and get it welded in. So a few days ago a run by my local scap yard to look at some mustang buckets I heard was there (they were but I didn't buy them) while I'm there I run into this guy and Was having a casual conversation with him. He ask what I was working on and I shared with him about my 63f100. He then says " I know where a really nice 66 is and it's for sale" obviously I ask where and he tells me Its was only a few miles from where we were. So on the way home out of pure curiosity I go looking for it. A few minutes later I've spotted it under a metal car cover at the house his direction lead me to. I thought what'll it hurt to knock on the door and Inquire. To shorten the story after some tough negotiations the next day I picked it up! My project has spun 180° and now the 63 is in the barn and the 66 is in the shop, it's just to nice not to finish it up! Enjoy some pics and i can elaborate more on details later.

You can finish it out and come in a little cheaper than a mid grade m2 and a v6 Dakota comes in a tad heavier than our f100s so the suspension was designed for the weight. I encourage you to call them and talk with Steve, he is extraordinarily knowledgable on it and can answer any question you may have.

Thanks, I do have to respray the bedsides and the hood where some spots lifted after it was initially sprayed but I got it at a price that puts me in no strain having to do that.
