'Turk' coming along
I have been forced to stay home with pay since the the week before Thanksgiving due to issues with an unstable personality I am forced to work with.
Although it pains me not to actually be doing work for that pay... I have managed to get a lot done on the Turk .
I re-installed the engine I swapped out because of a Knock it developed when it came up to temp. Unable duplicate it on a stand I thought it was the tranny. It seems my builder left out a spacer behind the fuel pump eccentric when it was rebuilt.Fixed that.
Finished the bracket work to install alternator and power steering on the old Y-block with Cordoba steering gear and Cardone rebuilt pump. Now the L.o.m.L. will be able to drive the beast.
Installed four way flasher set up I bought on E-pay years back.
Drilled the amp gauge, and oil pressure gauge for lights in the bronco dash I installed. Now I have Idiot lights as well as gauges.
I didn't even go to slick stock and have accomplished more in three weeks, than in the past two years!
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Yappy hew near!
Same sentiments to those who celebrate otherwise.

Working on my truck always helps with my unstable personality. I am retired so I get a check as long as I have a pulse. Stay with it!

Re: 'Turk' coming along
Thanks,
Chased fuel pump problems today, motor is running real rough as if starving for fuel. also noticed no temp or oil pressure gauges working either, guess I unplugged the voltage regulator when I buttoned up the dash last. I am glad I hooked up the idiot lights!
Hoping to join you in retirement next year if the numbers work out.
Unfortunately the unstable personality wasn't mine, if it was, I could tell myself to shut the hell up and just do the job. Turning on machinery while I had my hands in it just is not something I'd consider doing to anyone, much less myself. I'm on the payroll while the company "investigates" the miscreant.

John, do they not have a ''Lock Out/Tag Out'' safety program at your job?
If not they should. Could be the ''Miscreant'' that put you in danger on a machine
does not pay attention to his or her surroundings. At any rate I am glad you did
not get hurt from it. Sounds like the time away from there was good for you. TR

John,
Sounds like you have made a lot of progress. Can't wait to catch up in person.

Re: 'Turk' coming along
Spent the day with my friend Jeremiah, my go to engine guy.
The engine began running rough as a cob, Jeremiah found that somehow the timing was way off, coil was suspect,so We swapped it out with a spare. Although we could get it to smooth out at an idle it would not run worth a darn with a load. He found a slight vacuum leak so I re-torqued
the intake and still had a problem.
Now mind you before all the engine swaps, because of a knock that ended up being a missing fuel pump eccentric spacer, this motor purred great.
Tomorrow I plan on swapping out the intakes.
One step forward two steps back. By the way I did manage to fix the gauges, I did unplug the dash voltage regulator when I installed the four way flashers.

Re: 'Turk' coming along
John Merry Christmas. Glad to help root out the gremlins with you one by one. It's been the best of times... well most of the time. Chin up and you are almost there, we'll sort out the source of your leak and this turk will be humming along in no time.
