Made out of stainless steel and then polished would finish it off nicely!

After I get it finish welded, I am going to grind the outside edges smooth and we will probably have it chromed if it turns out well. I will then paint the inside with high temp flat black paint so it disappears.
The only part that will show is the outside edge and back in about an inch around it.

I think that it needs some dividers in it but I am not sure how many to put in, if any.

I kinda like it without dividers, especially if you're going to chrome the perimeter and the horizontal bar in the middle. It's clean & simple yet very unique.

Would the dividers change the tone or sound of the exhaust? Thinking musical instruments here, might be an idea to experiment with.

Randy,
That middle bar is recessed inside of the box. It would have to be painted black to disappear. That is where the step is to clear the body.
Maybe I should install a new bar to split it from side to side.

Simon, I wouldn't think that a divider would change the sound but I don't know that for sure. All that they would be is an up and down bar or side to side, 3/8" rod.

Not much to report lately. I have been busy with work and haven't had much time to work on this. I also needed to finish up a batch of hood kits so I have been busy with other things. We are in the process of hooking up the hydroboost and the P/S pump so I will have pictures before too long, hopefully. I want to get a bunch of these things done before we take the body off. Next will probably be to get the radiator and get it mounted.

We got some work done on Nick's truck this weekend.
We got the cooler put in for the P/S and the hydroboost. I felt that it probably needed a cooler due to both item items being used.
Image
We had to relocate the P/S pump because it was mounted in the boss on the head instead of the block and the pulley hit the inner fender apron. Now I need to find a water inlet/oil filter adapter from a 4.6 engine to clear the P/S pump.
Image

I made this bracket today to hold the P/S reservoir. I made it out of 1" aluminum flat stock, welded it up and attempted to polish it. I think that we might have it chromed because I couldn't get enough shine on it with my polisher.
Image

This is the reservoir that we decided to use. It should hold enough fluid with the cooler.

I am going to stop tomorrow on my way home to get the steel braided lines made so we can get them hooked up before he leaves town again.

We got the P/S lines and I finally got them all hooked up temporarily.
This is how I plan to route the lines.
Image
Image

I need to get some clamps ordered to mount the lines. I want to use some that will hold the lines away from the inner fenders a little bit so hopefully we won't get any rubbing on the final paint.
The cooler is hooked up.
Image
These lines will have to be mounted so they look a little better.
Image
I have a different oil filter mount and water inlet for a 4.6 ordered so that will take care of the problem with the location of the p/s pump.

I finished mounting the hoses going the hydroboost and the p/s pump today.
Image

I found some chrome triple hose separators on ebay for Harleys and figured that they would work for what we need. I picked up some chrome spacers at the hardware store along with some 10-24 unions. I turned down the unions until they were a press fit into the spacers and put some Loctite on them before I pressed them in. This way I can mount the spacers to the fender well and then mount the separators to the spacers. It seems like it is going to work out well.

His truck goes into the back yard next week because I have a trailer to build which is going to be a major project.

The work trailer is finished so it won't be long and I will have Nick's truck back in the garage and back to work on it.

It didn't turn out bad at all for a tile setter building it.

We had a package show up yesterday for Nick's truck. A new smooth tailgate skin for the unibody. Now I just have to get enough time to get the truck back in the garage so I can get back to work on it.
I will try and get some pics soon.

Here is a couple of pics of the tailgate skin. It came from Bob Grant Kustoms. I found him on facebook and I thought that the price was right. $160 + shipping. This is a great looking piece.
I was looking for a company locally to make these but wasn't having any luck.
