We all just have to hope this is not the sign that the 'investors' have started to pay attention to slicks. That is what drives the prices on the high end and tends to ruin the hobby aspect. If there is money to be made, there are people who will manipulate the market.

There was a 65-66 swb in south tejas a while back on CL. It was a "barn find". The guy wanted something stupid like $20k and said the price was firm. Good luck with that. I guess he might have sold it but not to me or anyone I know.

And the trouble with those 'barns finds,' the tinworm doesn't ignore them either. They still need a tonne of rust repairs etc.

I recently located one and got lucky with CL. I've had at least a couple of deals fall through in the past few months though.

Alan: Wazup with those stepside fenders on the box?? Something doesn't look right on the shape of radius from top horizontal to side vertical, and shape of wheel opening looks different as well?
Is this the way the Aussie trucks came, or has someone been messing with this one?

compare to this one found on google images

James, I`m thinking he put them on backwards and they are fibreglass from a Aussie company that makes stepside bodies and guards, Hughes Stepsides.
Also the owner needs a good slap in the chops for putting those gordamn ugly wheels on it!.. no.gif

Tom: I thought the same thing for a brief second, but remembering my lil bro's Warlock 4x4, I knew the profile line around the wheel opening was different on the Dodge.....

I have seen fiberglass that are 3" wider in an ad. I think that is what they could as those look like wide wheels.

Johnny
If restoring a ford was easy, chevy guys could do it.

Johnny: That is a distinct possibility, but still doesn't explain why the radius of the profile line around the wheel opening is not even close to the OEM stepside fenders......

Is it a smaller wheel arch in the guard to give the effect of a lowered truck.
