Super rare grill

Super rare 1964 grill. I bought an NOS one still in the original Ford box for $500. Starting bid 800 for a used one? Guess I will put the 2 that I have in the attic on ebay.

Wonder which is correct, NOS or used. Is aluminium rare that year or is that a sales pitch?

Custom Cabs had the Anodized aluminum grille which was a chrome look I guess. The only thing that would make it rare is it was a one year only design as was the 65 grill which if that grille got wrecked it would be replaced with a 66 grill because Ford quit making the 65 grill when the 66 came out. The 64 grill however was reproduced for a number of years, I am sure because a 66 grill was not a direct replacement for the 64 grill

I have never seen nor heard of a repro'd '64; in fact, none other than the '66's. who was the vendor for the repro'd '64's?

I guess I said that wrong. What I meant were produced by Ford or for Ford by a vendor after the model year ended. To me every part put on a vehicle after it has gone down the assembly line, is a reproduction of the original.

Man, I want a grille like that.. but that is a 1/3 of the value of my truck... Someone doing a nut and bolt will snatch that up...

what you ask and what you get are two different things. but i bet he gets his price $925.00 just to start with his freight added  I,ve bought 3 64 cc trucks with all the trim and paid less than that for each.

IT'S not so rare,, even thou they have been disc. for awhile, Ford still did them till about 20 years ago.. List of rare ones is a aluminum 1962 in which is very rare,, then 1965 NOS aluminum grills, On the 65 grills where dropped in early 70's as well as the 65 side emblem where dropped then, Another one is 1961 Mercury Grill,, seller believes the 64 is super rare is just a sales pitch in which someone will bite on his sales pitch,, only way I would buy it is that he has the original box in which I do not see ?? and without a box or even a part of a box gets me wondering ?

1962 grille is my favorite of the 61-64 grilles. I don't like the look of the 63 or 64s.

My '65 has/had the aluminum grille but it's beyond repair. After months of looking for a '65 I gave up on trying to find one and figured I'd use the 61 chrome grille that I found locally on Craigslist. Then one day while surfing eBay I found a decent aluminum '64 grille - with the upper valance and the lower gravel guard - starting bid 75 bucks. I watched patiently expecting to be outbid but won the auction at 75 plus 125 shipping. It shipped 3 days later and came to my door in a re-used radiator core support box that said LMC Truck on it! Could not believe how nice it is and 3 parts for 200 bucks I felt like I stole it. Got lucky on that one. To me that was an awesome deal. Is it as nice as the $800 dollar '64 grille on eBay? No and neither is the rest of my truck!

Speaking of grilles this is pretty cool...

Except for shipping cost, might have been a decent buy for someone needing a "63" grille, LOL!

I think you can still get a new grill from Carpenter, at least you could a few years ago. I have two NOS 64 grills and a couple of used ones. None of which are for sale at this time.
