hello

Post by mngrn »

Hi, my names Will I live up in icemans territory and was checking out your site, good stuff. anyways I picked up a 65 4x4 from the orignal owner and its got some dealer installed options like the tach ( rotunda ) and the spotlight that even says ford on it! Its got a 352, 4 speed and everything works! It has been sitting for 3 years, I put a new batt. in it and poured some gas down the carb... SHE'S ALIVE! It just needs a clutch, I bought it as a father son project for my oldest, we will start parts gathering and taking apart this winter. heres a few pics I will put some more up later.

Real nice truck, what's up with the bed? I thought the non-unit beds changed in '64. can anyone clue me in? You know I don't care how long a guy has been doing this stuff, you always see something new.

I better get to work, talk to you guys later.

that bed is stock for 4x4 f250 all years 61-66. wb of 61-66 f250 4x4 is 120" and can use either the 57 bed or the 61-64 lwb stepside bed. a lwb unibody will also fit on the frame.
there was also a 9 foot version of both the early bed and the stepside bed made for f350s until 66.

thanks guys. Iceman im in wasilla but im sure I will be coming up to your area to meet you and get parts. right now im playing hell trying to find repair panels for the bed. any thoughts? The truck wsa bought new in wyoming and the owner moved to montana at some point, at 119,000.78 miles it got a new short block. the truck has 178,000 miles total. it runs and drives good. they drove the truck up to alaska in 2000 then in 2001 the owner was killed in a plane crash and there she sat. I kept bugging the lady and she said "not for sale" gave her my number said if you change your mind call me. 1 month later: " if you want it come give me a 1000 bucks" i couldnt get home fast enough! heres a few more pics.

Iceman, thanks. There were'nt that many here to begin with, but it's so rare that we see an old 4X4 in So Cal that it's not funny.
I knew that '65 had to be stock, it just looks too original. Like I said, you learn something new everyday.

Thanks again.

The 57 to 60 bed is correct for the 61 to 65 F100 4X4

The 66 F100 4X4 used the new 64 to 66 bed.

Hi from the southern Houston. I drove through Wasilla back in May when I was visiting your fine state and met Iceman. Went from Anchorage to Talkeetna, then back down to Seward. What a drive!

I'm already missing those king crab legs, halibut and mountains. Oh and Alaskan Ale too.
