64 4X4 4 door build

Post by jalipke1124 »

[album][/album]I am new to the site so I am just going to wing it. I purchased my 1964 F100 back in high school, my first vehicle. It has been through many recreations, it started with the straight 6-3 on the tree, then 302 three on the tree, Windsor and 3 speed, 400 auto all as a half ton and the last build was full race 400 auto 3/4 ton. That set up got me in lots of trouble. It has been sitting for about 10 years with no drivetrain waiting the final metamorphous and here we are.
The plan is to build a daily driver to replace my 96 F350 diesel similar to the Crown Vic. swaps that have been done. I am going to use the floor pan and firewall of the 94, so I will end up with P/S, P/B, and A/C. The wife suggested to do the back doors as suicide doors and I have figured out how to do it with not to much more work, the big issue is to get it to look right when complete.
I am starting with a 94 F350 7.3L diesel 4X4 5 speed and hope to have it road worthy so I can drive it to Slick Stock in 2018. With that being said the wife is going back to school this fall and I am currently working 6 days a week with an open air garage so progress has been at a snails pace so far.

Here is what I am starting with:

and this is what I am aiming for

I have had all of the sheet metal parts for a couple of months and this last weekend I finally got the 64 bed loose from the frame and the flatbed 5th wheel hitch removed from the 94. I cleaned up and repaired the frame where needed, then mother nature decided the water the grass.
I will past pictures as the slow progress happens. If I don't try I will never know if it can be done, right?

If you copy the image address that says "IMG" which is on the right (4th one down) you can copy it, then paste that directly into your message so it will imprint the picture.
I certainly am envious of the super slicks.. that would be an awesome daily driver.
