Log in again and again and again

Post by GLindley »

Jim Bob, while jumping from one board to another I notice that I seem to loose the fact that I'm logged in. When I tried to leave a response to one of the threads, it was in a continual loop of asking me to log in before I could leave a response. I finally "X'd" out of the entire site and logged back in.

Sounds like you have this one figured out.

One thing to keep in mind. The "Keep me logged in" checkbox is a great way to keep you logged in as you pop in and out of the site, and from day to day. But you do NOT want to check that checkbox if you are using a public computer, such as at a library or the lunch room where you work. Doing so on a public computer would allow the next person who uses the computer to log in as you.

But with that exception, I would highly recommend checking the box. Sure makes things a lot easier. It does set a cookie on your computer, but it is just a cookie that contains your username and your password (encrypted). It is not any kind of tracking cookie, and no information about you is collected.
A clear conscience is the sign of a bad memory.
