f100 drums on f250 spindles

My 65 F250 and F100 use the same spindles. I do not know about the 70.

Re: f100 drums on f250 spindles
Chris the spindles are not the same for F-100 and F-250 WRONG,WRONG 65-67 F-100 are the same and 65 to EARLY 71 where used F-250 came with 2" shoes and then on 2 1/2" shoes was only on 66-67 trucks only NOW on 68-early 71 F-250 spindles where the same Disc or Drum,, Now Chris the drums cannot interchange due to the size of brake shoes unless you change the spindles/ backing plates etc.. I guess

Re: f100 drums on f250 spindles
I think you misread my post. The backing plates are different but they bolt up to the same spindles. I discovered this when I restored my 65 F250 suspension. I suggest you measure and mock a F100 65/66 spindle to your 65 F250, just like I did.6166 Junkyard Dog wrote:Chris the spindles are not the same for F-100 and F-250 WRONG,WRONG 65-67 F-100 are the same and 65 to EARLY 71 where used F-250 came with 2" shoes and then on 2 1/2" shoes was only on 66-67 trucks only NOW on 68-early 71 F-250 spindles where the same Disc or Drum,, Now Chris the drums cannot interchange due to the size of brake shoes unless you change the spindles/ backing plates etc.. As for the 65/66 year the spindles right and left are the same.
EDIT: Some merit to 61-66 Junkyard Dogs comment. There is a spindle id difference between kingpin bushings. 65 nylon bushing is different from the brass bushings. I installed nylon bushings and 8 months latter I had my spindles reamed for brass bushings. Reguardless of this they are still the same F100 to F250 2wd twin IBeam axles for the 65 year model. I recomend to anyone that replaces kingpins to have your spindles fitted for the brass bushimgs. This has no effect on the original post.

Yes but why Ezer, why wouldn't you just get the complete stub axles with disc brakes off a 79' F100 and be done with it.... Kind Regards.. Concerned !
Honey, If I say I`ll fix something I will, there`s no need to remind me every 6 months!!
