Been using George for the fuel service truck during harvest
George is the red 61 F100 4x4
Bed is full of tools , gas barrel , oil, antifreeze , brake fluid ..etc
Works great , runs good
Was driving to the field , when I met a dipshiiiite nieghbor kid (about 35 years old)
He was Driving about 65 mph .. fat tires sticking out about 3" past fenders
Big rock about the size of an egg flew up ...

Nice big break in the glass... gritting teeth rest of drive
Went to the field & serviced the old gas combine
Should get done today ....
Cut one load , everything looking great & running good
Then about halfway thru the second load
Engine started running like crap....
Fuel filter no doubt ... been going over these terraces , knocks rust loose in tank..
Took hose off .. fuel ran out good ..... filter fine
Crap ! .... maybe electric pump is weak ... nope.. plenty going to carb
Now I decide it's spark .... wonderful .. it's about 105* out
The engine is red hot , and the dizzy is in a hard to get spot
Pull off cap .. very dusty inside ... clean it ... no help
Pull off cap to check points .. they look good .....but ...
I don't have my glasses .. I jump the starter solenoid and watch them
They are perfect... but .. I hear a snap snap snap snap
Coil has been jumping to the 12 volt terminal
....
Try several methods to try to get it to stop .... none work
Drive to Salina , buy a new coil ... NOW IT WONT START
I'm getting very mad ...
I have to climb a ladder every time to get up to the engine
Then a ladder to get in the cab
I'm fat ... bad knee ... very hot ... did this about 15 times already....
Checked for power to coil ..huh ? What the F ?
Blew a fuse with the new coil for some dang reason
Find a pop can .. cut a piece & wrap the fuse
(Yes I made it hourglass shaped ... I estimate it to be 30 amp)
Try again ... running like a champ
Cut good rest of the day (what's left of it)
Didn't get done .. but will today easy
