T98 to np435 swap..hows the speedometer gear selection...

Post by aj64f100390-292 »

Hello, I have a nice np435 sitting around and my t98 is a great transmission, even speed shifts pretty nice for what it is but Im at the lowest teeth count gear they made and Im still slow on the speedometer so I was wondering how many gear options the np435 has. And I am aware the bolt pattern is slightly different...my father has been around them.for years or was not in a long time.but says he thinks the worst thing we will incounter is only having three bolts instead of 4..or the last time we discusssed it thats what I remember him saying. Thanks guys

Hello,

Edited post.

http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/speedom ... gears.html

This site may be more helpful, showing rear axle ratio, tire size, transmission, speedo gears needed.

I can't help with the number of bolts, both my np435's had a transfer case with them.
