Hey, i am trying to redo the wiring in my 63 using the existing harness. I have spent a lot of time with the shop manual wiring diagram.
I have a yellow/black wire that comes thru firewall in the 8 terminal connector with the rest of the ignition wiring. It runs over to threnstarter solenoid and just hangs. Was not connected to anything. Has a single female pin connector.
Anybody know what this should connect to? Trying to fix some rigs from previous owner and dont want to miss anything obvious.

Re: 63 wiring question
I'm thinking that goes on the solenoid
It gives full 12 volts to the coil when starting the engine
If your engine starts easy , I would be hesitant to attach it
(I might be wrong on this ... hopefully somebody that is
For certain will chime in)

Re: 63 wiring question
On my 63 the horn wire is yellow w/ blue stripe and the I post solenoid wire that slick 4x4 mentioned is brown with a 90 degree female round pin connecter. the 63 diagram shows your yellow/black wire connecting to a breaker that feeds from the battery side of the starter solenoid. My 63 doesn't have this wire or that breaker that the diagram shows.
