Iindustrial Chassis Still Open?

Post by LM14 »

Saw on another group (yes, there are other groups) that somebody had been trying to contact Industrial Chassis for several weeks and was getting no answer. Web pages hadn't been updated and looked like they had closed up shop.

Anyone hear anything?

Steve: This came up somewhere several weeks back, and after some digging, it sounds like Steve Szymanski has closed the mfg. part and is now basically closed to the public and strictly doing private builds.
With a bit of recon on his blog, facebook and the HAMB, you should be able to verify this.

Well dang. That's too bad, but I'm sure he has his reasons.

That settles that I guess. Looks like I'll go old-school with a Nostalgia Sid's drop axle or DIY it with a spring-under-axle setup. Or wait and see what Arclight Fab comes out with...

Jason: IF (and IF is the operative word) you were able to get in touch with Steve, he may have stock that is unsold?? Or, if he knows the item is sold, and has a deposit, he may be convinced to fab one up?

All purely speculative, would need to contact him to see what the real deal is......

Potentially, there was a post on the HAMB indicating that he might be selling off existing stock on eBay.

Looks like he is trying to find a buyer for his designs.

He use to come to Lone Star Roundup in Austin. Everybody I sent to him as a possible customer were not impressed with his attitude. Some people need to stay behind the scenes and hire a PR guy. I doubt he sold enough of anything to justify the cost of a patent so most of it is probably free game.
